Verona Pride 2026

Verona Pride has particular political resonance: it marches in a city governed by politicians who have historically opposed it, through streets that include one of the world's most recognisable symbols of romance (the Juliet house and balcony) and past the Roman Arena where summer opera audiences sit. The contrast between the official cultural identity and the Pride march is part of what makes it compelling. The event is organised by Arcigay Verona and typically held in June. Expected attendance: 10,000–20,000.

Gay Verona — Your Complete Guide

Everything worth knowing before you go.

Verona — Shakespeare's setting for Romeo and Juliet, home to one of the world's best-preserved Roman arenas, and a UNESCO World Heritage city of remarkable beauty — has a small but functional gay scene. The city's prosperity (it is the economic capital of the Veneto wine region), its large university and its heavy international tourism have combined to produce a more tolerant social environment than the conservative political reputation of the Veneto might suggest. Verona Pride, held in the spring or early summer, has been growing significantly.
