Frida, named for Frida Kahlo, is the most consistently LGBTQ+-welcoming bar in Verona's city centre. Located near the Arena di Verona — the remarkable 1st-century Roman amphitheatre that hosts opera performances in summer — the bar occupies a position in one of Verona's most visited areas. The interior is decorated with Kahlo imagery and the general aesthetic of a feminist-queer-friendly cultural bar. The cocktails are good and the aperitivo is one of the better offerings in this part of the city. The crowd is mixed: gay men, queer women, straight allies who appreciate the atmosphere. The bar hosts occasional queer cultural events and coordinates with Arcigay Verona for Pride-adjacent programming. Open daily from late afternoon.
