Thermas dos Laranjais is located in the city of Olímpia in the interior of São Paulo state — approximately four hours from the capital by road — and is one of the largest and most celebrated thermal resort complexes in Brazil. The resort is gay-friendly in the specifically Brazilian sense: not exclusively gay but genuinely welcoming of LGBTQ+ visitors and popular enough with São Paulo's gay community that LGBTQ+ guests are a well-established and visible presence throughout the complex. The facilities are extensive: dozens of thermal pools, water slides, wave pools, spas, hotels, restaurants, and a resort infrastructure designed for multi-day stays. The thermal water is genuinely therapeutic — warm, mineral-rich, and piped across the complex in a variety of pool configurations. São Paulo's gay community has adopted Thermas dos Laranjais as a favourite long-weekend destination, particularly for groups who want a holiday experience within a few hours of the city. The resort books out quickly for holiday weekends; advance reservations are essential.
