Guadalajara's gay scene is one of Mexico's most established, centred on the Chapultepec and Lafayette neighbourhoods, and the annual Gay Getaway Weekend each May is when it truly comes alive. The event brings together circuit parties, cultural programming, and community events in Mexico's second city — a place with deep mariachi roots, gorgeous colonial architecture, and an increasingly visible queer presence. If you've only been to CDMX or Vallarta, Guadalajara will genuinely surprise you.
