The Puerto Rico Queer Filmfest is the island's premier LGBTQ+ film event, screening queer cinema from Puerto Rico and across the Spanish-speaking world in San Juan each year. The festival spotlights queer Latinx stories that rarely make it to mainstream screens, and the programme reflects the particular complexity of LGBTQ+ life in Puerto Rico — a US territory with a deeply Catholic heritage that has nonetheless produced a rich queer artistic tradition.
