About this place The Texas Theatre

Built in 1931 by media mogul and avid pilot Howard Hughes, it was re-opened as a movie theatre and multi-use performance space in 2010 by Aviation Cinemas named in part after the eccentric billionaire. It's been called "One of America's great movie houses" by Filmmaker Magazine and featured in countless publications as a cornerstone to the community of Oak Cliff.
