Houston Gay Pride is Texas's largest LGBTQ+ celebration and one of the biggest in the American South, held each June in the nation's fourth-largest city. The parade through Montrose — Houston's historic gay neighborhood — draws over 300,000 spectators and thousands of marchers in a celebration that reflects the extraordinary diversity of the nation's most ethnically diverse major city.
Houston's queer community is notably large and diverse, with significant African American, Latino, and Asian LGBTQ+ populations giving the pride celebration a uniquely vibrant character. The Montrose neighborhood, while changing rapidly with gentrification, remains the heart of Houston's gay culture and comes fully alive for pride weekend.
