The White Party Palm Springs is one of the foundational events of the American circuit party calendar — a multi-day gathering in April that draws approximately 30,000 gay men from across the United States and internationally for a long weekend of main events, pool parties, and the specific social world of the circuit community. The White Party began in 1989 as a private pool party hosted by producer Jeffrey Sanker and has grown into the most prestigious circuit event in the United States. The main events are held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, with capacity crowds of 10,000 or more for the Saturday night main event; the surrounding days fill with pool parties at the major hotels and dozens of affiliated events throughout the city. The White Party draws the international circuit community — the gay men who travel the global circuit event calendar from Miami's White Party at Vizcaya to Montreal's Black & Blue — as well as gay men for whom the White Party is an annual pilgrimage. The Palm Springs setting is part of the event's identity: the desert backdrop, the mountains, the pool culture, and the city's gay-friendly character make it an ideal circuit party destination. Accommodation requires booking three to four months in advance.
