Cape Town Gay Pride is Africa's oldest and largest LGBTQ+ pride celebration, held annually in the stunning setting of Africa's most diverse and open city. The festival spans several weeks in February and March, centered on the historic De Waterkant gay village and the vibrant Sea Point seafront.
The flagship parade draws tens of thousands through Green Point and Sea Point, with the backdrop of Table Mountain making it one of the world's most visually spectacular pride marches. The event has been running since 1994 — the year South Africa became the first country on the continent with constitutional LGBTQ+ protections.
